Teased: A New Ford Bronco Concept Is Coming

Teaser /5 Comments

The countdown to Ford's fab new Bronco concept continues.

Recently, Ford raised the possibility of a very specialFord Broncoconcept that could pay homage to the classic patrol and rescue Broncos of years past, tipping their hand in a sense with their use of the phrase "Might As Well Have The Best." That's the official slogan of Filson, a premium American outfitter, and it points to the possibility that the concept will be born out of a partnership with that company.

Now, we've got a fresh batch of additionalFilson Bronco teaser imagescourtesy of the official Ford Bronco Instagram page, and this time, we get a sneak peek at the exterior of the vehicle.

The photo of the vehicle's exterior leaves a lot to the imagination, but we can see that it's based on the four-door Bronco, and it wears matte black fender flare extensions and beadlocking wheels with bright machined-finish beadlock rings. We can see an extensive roof cargo system, but it's impossible to tell what's being carried on the roof.

But by far the most attention-grabbing aspect of the concept is the tasty two-tone paint scheme, which couples a frosty, minty, retro-looking green with white body side stripes. The world needs a whole lot more of that.

Other photos from the batch show the front of the SUV with a big Warn winch mounted to the bumper, a closeup of some rich-looking brown twill fabric with black leather and copper accents, and some random design sketches that appear to detail an upholstered partition between the first and second rows. That's something we could see joining Ford's extensive lineup of official Bronco accessories, even if the Filson Bronco itself isn't slated for volume production - which, sadly, it isn't.

We'll see much more of the new Filson Bronco concept soon; Ford says the new vehicle will be revealed on the Bronco's official Instagram page today.
