坦纳福斯特's Formula D Passat Packs Ungodly Amount of Horsepower

坦纳福斯特is making his triumphant return to Formula D in this insane Volkswagen Passat. Foust's latest drifter is powered by a 7.4-liter V8 that pushes out 700 horsepower, but just in case he needs more speed there's a tank of nitrous on-tap good for another 200. That 900 horsepower comes in at just a hair above the 280 horsepower offered on the highest trim of the Passat, the 3.6L V6 SEL Premium.

A bigger engine of course means new stuff under the hood. Said stuff includes a four-speed racing transmission and an AEM Infinity-10 fuel injection EMS, with custom coilovers from RS-R and a massive wing from APR Performance helping with handling. The inside is as bare as you'd expect but does feature the requisite roll cage, Recaro racing seats and Sparco steering wheel. Foust has been away from the Formula D scene for a few years and his return won't exactly be a full one. He only plans on competing in three events in 2015, including the season's inaugural Streets of Long Beach event.
