Rolls-Royce Boat Tail Timepieces Took 3,000 Hours To Make

In a period of fewer than two weeks, three of the world's elite automakers have all revealed ultra-exclusive watches. Bugatti came first with itsnew line of smartwatchesand Aston Martin followed with its ownstunning timepiece. Not to be outdone, Rolls-Royce has just unveiled its own timepieces in collaboration with Swiss master watchmakers Bovet 1822.

As the name implies, these timepieces have been designed for owners of the new coachbuilt Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. Considering the convertible's $28-million price tag - equivalent to over 50Phantomsedans - it's little surprise that the timepieces are worthy of the car that is said to have beenpurchased by Beyonce and Jay-Z.

These are much more than wristwatches. Their meticulous construction aside, the pair of reversible tourbillon timepieces can be worn as a normal watch or used as a pocket timepiece, a pendant, or placed within its special spot in theBoat Tailconvertible's dashboard. The development and manufacturing of the timepieces and the dashboard holder took 3,000 hours.

Both lady's and gentleman's timepieces are made as a pair and feature 18K white gold cases. The front dials make use of the same Caleidolegno veneer used for the Boat Tail convertible's stunning rear deck. The intricate detailing doesn't stop there; on the reverse side, the gentleman's timepiece has an aventurine dial complete with a celestial arrangement.
