The latest functions are rolling out to customers in the USA now.

The new update includes a one-touch garage door opener, improvements to the navigation system, EVgo Autocharge+ support, text address sharing from your smartphone to the car's navigation system, and better DC fast-charging speeds.
This update has begun rolling out to Rivian customers in the USA, with the Rivian app and vehicle UI notifying owners when the update is ready. It followsanother update from Marchthat added functions like a proximity lock/unlock feature for the key fob.
The new one-touch garage door opener is nothing groundbreaking but was greatly appreciated by several owners on social media. Once a location is set for a garage, a prompt on the driver's display shows when approaching or leaving the garage, with a simple thumb control button on the steering wheel controlling the opening/closing of the door. Multiple garages can be paired with the system.
For the navigation system, Rivian has made it simpler to plan trips and get on the road. Customers can now see the drive times for searched destinations, charging stops now appear with pins (also displaying the charging time at a certain station), and the system informs you of how much charging is needed at that stop.
Sharing text addresses from your smartphone to the Rivian's navigation system is now possible, whether that address appears in texts, emails, notes, calendars, or some other app. Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Yelp also support this sharing functionality.
Rivian vehicles are now compatible with the Autocharge+ function from EVgo. Now,Rivians can begin a charging session simply by plugging in, and charging is automatically linked to your EVgo account. Before using it, customers can enroll in the EVgo app under the Vehicles tab. This includes verifying the VIN of your Rivian model.
Besides these updates, Rivian has also made several other smaller changes and improvements. At high battery temperatures, DC fast charging is faster by 2.5 minutes, while battery cooling noise is lower. Small issues relating to the adaptive cruise control, Alexa, and Bluetooth have been resolved.
A little chime now tells you when adaptive cruise control disengages and the responsiveness of the proximity and active unlocking with any key is better when the vehicle is asleep. Thefull list of changes can be found here.
We appreciate that Rivian's software updates aren't gimmicky or just for show - these are all improvements that make owners' lives easier and more convenient. It's a pity that a software update can't stop Rivian R1Ts fromeating through their tiresat an alarmingly rapid rate, though.
