Rimac Nevera Comes With Eight Years Of Free Electricity

If we pay this much, we'd want free electricity for a lifetime.

Rimac has announced a partnership with Ionity, Europe's largest open-brand charging network, to supply a whopping eight years of unlimited complimentary charging to owners.

This is the longest charging deal we've seen on any new car to date, dwarfing thealready impressive three-year dealsavailable for Volkswagen Group products.

To claim access to the free charging, you need to buy aRimac Nevera. The electric hypercar has a base price of $2.4 million before you add some options. You'll also need to move to Europe since Ionity does not operate in the US.

CarBuzzreached out to Rimac to inquire about a similar deal for US owners and will report back as soon as we have details. For now, we'll just say that Rimac must be working on a similar deal for US customers, asthe first customer car arrived here in June.

"When people think of Rimac, they think of the record-breaking performance that the Nevera delivers, as well as the groundbreaking technologies at the heart of the company," said Mate Rimac, Founder and CEO of Rimac Group. "Yet, the Nevera was primarily developed as a hyper GT rather than a track-focused car - it is a user-friendly hypercar. The collaboration with Ionity allows us to take this experience to the next level."

It seems unlikely that Nevera owners will drive their cars enough to take full advantage of eight years of charging, but it may inspire them to take more road trips without fear of finding a reliable station. The Nevera can reach a peak charging speed of 500 kW, which no charger in Europe or the US can deliver.

Using Ionity's 350 kW charger, a 0-80% charging session takes just 25 minutes. Thanks to a sizable 120 kWh battery, Rimac claims 287 miles of range.

"Ionity's extensive charging network is a perfect match for Rimac. [Its] HPC technology guarantees a fast and reliable charging experience across Europe, ensuring that pit stops are as short and effortless as possible," Rimac added.

"Ionity has set the standards in ultra-fast charging and a seamless user experience across Europe. The partnership with Rimac perfectly reflects our endeavor for performance, reliability, and sustainability," said Ionity CEO Michael Hajesch. "It is based on common values and the pioneering work we do in our respective fields to enable and advance electric mobility."

Along with the free charging, Ionity will supply six HPC chargers at the Rimac Campus in Zagreb, Croatia. These chargers will be open 24/7 to the public. Additional charging stations will be installed across the campus, located near retail spaces, a restaurant, and various event locations.
