Ram's New 1500 Built To Serve Edition Honors America's Firefighters

Ram has introduced the latest Built to Serve Edition pickup truck, atradition that began back in 2019. Introducing the2022 Ram 1500Built to Serve Edition, part of the brand's second phase of these special editions that honors America's firefighters, police officers, and medical service providers. The first of these to launch is for the firefighters.

This 1500 Big Horn-based trim edition is finished in a very appropriate Redline exterior color though Diamond Black is also an option. Other exterior elements include a uniquely-styled all-black grille and surround, black bumpers, black-bezel premium lighting, and 20-inch aluminum wheels with a Technical Gray finish. Buyers will also receive body-color wheel flares, black badges and wheel-to-wheel side steps, and dual four-inch black exhaust tips.

The black interior boasts orange accent stitching, embroidered Velcro panels on both front seats and the front seat inboard shoulder panel. Why Velcro? So that owners can personalize the truck with their own patches. There's also a "Built to Serve" badge on the instrument panel, vinyl sports seats, black onyx chrome interior trim, and all-weather mats.

用于越野,每个truck is properly equipped with all-terrain tires, hill-descent control, and skid plates for the front suspension, steering gear, fuel tank, and transfer case. Tow hooks and HD off-road-ready front and rear shock absorbers round out the package.

"After honoring each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces with our initial Built to Serve models, we felt it would be equally important to also extend our gratitude to all first responders who serve or have served our communities," said Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. "Whether a first responder or civilian, Ram truck owners are very familiar with this adage as it's something we strive to build into every truck and van we produce."

Production will get underway this month in Michigan and sales begin this spring. Like the Big Horn trim in general, the base engine is the 3.6-liter V6 with a mild-hybrid e-Torque system with 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Optional engines include a turbo diesel V6 with 260 hp and 480 lb-ft., or the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of twist. Pricing starts at $46,625 plus the $1,795 destination fee.
