Ram 1500 And Ram Heavy Duty Get Dark With New Special Editions

Ram luxury just got sportier.

We knew Ram waspreparing to reveal something newat the 2019 State Fair of Texas and we were hoping it would be a production version of the TRX, using a supercharged Hellcat engine. Sadly, this was not the case as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has just revealed theRam 1500Limited Black Edition andRam Heavy DutyNight Editions. The Black Edition and Night Editions are the latest in what has grown to be a long line of special edition vehicles from FCA including the recently-revealed Ram 1500Night Edition packageand Ram HDKentucky Derby Edition.

"Along with increasing capability, technology and efficiency, Ram is always looking for ways to create more comfort and refinement for our customers. The new Limited Black Edition is another example of how we deliver the most luxurious pickups in the industry," said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand. "Additionally, the new Heavy Duty Big Horn and Laramie Night Editions now offer an even wider selection of personalized content."

The Ram Heavy Duty Night Editions (pictured above) are available on Big Horn and Laramie trims. They include a monochromatic design with a black grille, black badging, and black 20-inch wheels - making this the first time ever that a Ram HD will be available with black wheels on a dually. Buyers will be able to select the Night Edition package on 2500 and 3500 Crew Cab models with 4x2 or 4x4 and a choice of a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 or 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel engine. Ram says the Night Edition will be available starting at$37,995.

The Ram 1500 Limited Black Edition (pictured above) features black accents including the grille with R-A-M lettering, badges, tow hooks, exhaust, LED headlights, grille surround, bumpers, door handles, and side-view mirrors. Other unique details include 22-inch black wheels, a tonneau cover, and sports performance hood. With a starting MSRP of$53,690, buyers can choose from 4x2 or 4x4 configurations with the 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel, 5.7-liter Hemi V8, or 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine with eTorque.

Ram says the 1500 Limited Black Edition will arrive in dealerships late third quarter 2019 while the Heavy Duty Night Editions won't go on sale until later in the fourth quarter.
