But will the Turbo S E-Hybrid be getting more power?

Wagon sales make up only a sliver of the automotive market in the United States, but Porsche is one of the few automakers that still offers one. The Panamera Sport Turismo may not sell as well as its more conventional counterpart, but it is still one of the highest-performing wagons money can buy. Based on recent spy shots, we know the Panamera is receiving asignificant facelift for 2021, and theSport Turismo will be includeddespite slower sales.

Our spy photographers recently captured the 2021Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid Sport Turismoin Turbo S guisetesting on the Nurburgring, giving a preview of the quickest wagon model. This test mule is wearing less camouflage than before, meaning Porsche could be getting ready to reveal it officially.

Details about the facelifted powertrain are currently unknown. The current Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 combined with an electric motor to produce 677 hp and 626 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed PDK transmission sends power to all four wheels, rocketing the car to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 192 mph. Because it is a plug-in hybrid, the Turbo S E-Hybrid can also travel over 30 miles on electric power alone.

Up until now, this has been the quickest version of the Panamera. But Porsche has recently been seen testing a newversion of the Panamera dubbed the "Lion," which aims to be even quicker and more powerful.

The Lion drivetrain won't use any electric assist, but it could still produce anywhere from 750 to 820 hp according to rumors. None of the spy shots of the Panamera Lion have shown the Sport Turismo body style, meaning that it may not be available as a wagon. Porsche should reveal the facelifted Panamera and Panamera Sport Turismo later this year with some minor exterior updates and a new steering wheel from the 992-generation 911.
