Porsche Design Celebrates 50 Years With New Watch

Like the original from 1972, the limited edition comes with a matte black dial. Refinements to the design include the addition of a crown, clasp, and dial with the current Porsche Design logo. At the back, a sapphire-crystal case back proudly shows off the Porsche Design winding rotor. The tachymeter and date display show off the current Porsche Design lettering too, but the minute hand "features the unmistakable rectangular shape of the original baton hands, updated with a pointed tip for the most precise indication on the surrounding minute dial." To keep it in one piece, the case is made of titanium and has a titanium carbide coating. The strap is also made of titanium, as is the clasp.

年代o how limited is this limited edition? Porsche Design says that only 1,000 units will be made every year at its Solothurn, Switzerland watchmaking facility.
