Porsche Boxster With Vale GT1 Kit Comes To Life

This monstrous creation even has hints of the Bugatti Chiron in its design.

In late December 2021, a company called Vale Automotive teased a wild, widened Porsche Boxsterthat it would call the GT1, and now that dream has finally come to life. When we were first shown the kit, it was a digital render, and now Vale has completed at least one Boxster with the upgrades, increasing its width by two feet in the process.

The design is clearly influenced by that of thePorsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, adding wide hips, a central roof scoop, and a sweeping tail. There's also a fixed roof, which begs the question of why the Vale GT1 is based on theBoxsterand not the Cayman, but there's a simple explanation for this.

As far as we can tell, this kit is made for the original 986-generation Boxster, which did not have a hard-top Cayman sibling. Not that it matters much because this kit makes the Boxster look almost unrecognizable. It also sounds completely different, although the tuner would not directly respond to comments asking what had been done. If Vale Automotive gets back to us, you'll be the first to know.

Whatever it's got going on under the hood, we hope it's potent because this kind of styling needs the performance to back it up. From the rear, the car could almost be mistaken for aBugatti Chiron, and with the vented fenders, large rear wing, and huge side intakes, you'd expect the Boxster GT1 to at least hold its own in a race against a modern 718.

When the kit was first revealed, the composite body panels alone (that excludes the new lighting systems and wheels) would set buyers back £10,999, or around $12,500 at the time. But since this kit has been delayed from its initially planned launch of February 2022, and considering that the car was recently taken to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in an effort to lure well-heeled buyers to the tuner lifestyle, we wouldn't be surprised if that figure has swelled somewhat.

And don't forget that you'll still need to fit some performance upgrades if you don't want to be considered a poser. Then again, you could always lean into the poser look by getting Vale to build you a年代mart car that looks like a Lambo.
