Paul Walker Put Plenty Of Miles On This R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R

He didn't own it, but he did most of the driving.

The market for R34 Nissan Skylines is absolutelyridiculous at the moment. There are three reasons for this phenomenon. Only 11,578 were ever built, and it was never officially sold in the USA. MotoRex famously imported 16 cars between the late 1990s to mid-2000s before the government shut it down. In addition to being scarce globally and even less obtainable in the USA, you also have the pop culture factor.

The R34 had a considerable impact on the Gran Turismo generation, to which this car is synonymous with thelate great Paul Walker. So how much would an R34 sell for if you can prove he was in the seat for an extended period?

We'll soon know because such a car just popped up for sale. While this isn'tPaul Walker's personal R34, he did spend a lot of time with it. Walker had a close relationship with MotoRex, and it famously gave him various models to drive.

The car in question is said to have just 21,242 miles on the clock, most of those put there by Walker himself. Walker was chosen to put the necessary miles on it to be fully legally imported. As an avid fan of theNissan GT-Rand a Hollywood A-Lister, it made complete sense for MotoRex to lend the famous Bayside Blue unit to a man that faced a wave of paparazzi every time he hit the road.

This particular model is a V-Spec II. It comes standard with the famous 2.6-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six that Nissan claims produced 276 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. These figures are widely believed to be underquoted, as Nissan's claims were merely in line with a gentleman's agreement between Japanese automakers to limit the power output to 276 hp. It sends all that power to an all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed manual transmission.

The V-Spec adds a limited-slip differential at the rear, a carbon fiber hood, and a stiffer suspension setup. Like 99% of R34, it has a few modifications. In this case, it comes with Volk forged wheels, a Trust exhaust, a Momo steering wheel, a Nismo shifter, a Greddy radiator, and a Sparco four-point harness for the driver.

This R34 is already rare, and it will fetch a high price with the advert stating "Please call for price," but it will be interesting to see if the Paul Walker connection adds a few thousand to the price.

Also interesting is whether this is actually legal. It must be in some form as it is being openly sold in the US, but it's likely not under the classic car regulations, as the 25-year timeframe for that would only elapse in 2026.
