Not Even 888 HP Can Save This Mansory Porsche 911 Turbo S

Tuning /17 Comments

The Mansory PL9M Evo 900 is definitely worthy of being called a car mod atrocity.

Because no good deed goes unpunished, Mansory has gotten its hands on thePorche 911 Turbo S(available for both coupe and cabriolet models) and turned it into a gaudy creation called the "P9LM EVO 900." A complete conversion kit for the storied sports car, it will be limited to just 10 units and will offer vertically changing two-tone paint options in the buyer's colors of choice, the option of one of two body kits (with or without body extensions), and an increase in power to 888 horsepower and 772 lb-ft of torque.

The German tuner doesn't normally take to defiling Porsches in the same way it does Mercedes G-Classesor Lamborghini Uruses, but this one appears to be an extra special exception. The Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe is known for being a sleek, luxurious sports car that's as beautiful as it is fast, and importantly, it's usually subtle. Obviously, Mansory took this as a challenge to see how much it could ruin the looks, and in that respect, we have to give it an A+.

As for the specific model shown here, practically all of the exterior features have been changed, starting with the heavily revised front fascia. The air intakes have been enlarged and the front apron is now made out of carbon fiber and the daytime running lights have been altered to make room for the larger inlet openings. All of this helps improve downforce and has the added benefit of not ruining any of the driver assistance features.

The hood is exposed forged carbon fiber along with the upper part of the fascia. All wheel wells now feature new ventilation outlets also in exposed carbon fiber. More air intakes on the rear side panels are framed by carbon air inlets, funneling air to the engine along with the roof duct, which is, you guessed it, also forged carbon.

At the rear, you receive a new diffuser and a large retractable spoiler along with a few other visual changes framing a new three-pipe exhaust system.

New 9.5x21 and 12x22 FV.5C rims round out the exterior shod with high-performance Continental SportContact 7 tires. The rims and brake calipers can be completed in your choice of colors, so go wild. Because when the car already looks like this, you might as well continue to make a statement.

To achieve the new power numbers of 888 hp and 772 lb-ft from the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six, the engineers added larger VTG turbochargers for each cylinder bank, 98mm downpipes with exhaust flaps, a water-cooled intercooler with fan control, a sports air filter, an ECU tune, and lastly a high-performance exhaust.

It is a huge increase over the 640 hp and 590 lb-ft the regular Turbo S produces, and the company says the new upgrades will help the car rocket from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds on its way to a 211 mph top speed. If there's one thing that makes this kit worth it, it's this, but you can get thesame power from Brabuswithout looking like a tool.

Finally, the interior, unfortunately, saw as drastic a change as the exterior. The steering wheel is now half carbon and half leather in your color of choice, and it also now features a shift light and a digital display for speed and engine revs. Everything inside has been reupholstered with leather, and where there isn't leather, carbon fiber has been added. You can choose your own colors, but Mansory has gone for a putrid turquoise/mint green hue.

新Mansory floormats, seatbelts, and many other Mansory logos round out the entire design to make sure you don't forget the horrendous financial decision you just made.

没有词多少成本的模型,但是we know it will be a ton on top of the $230,400 base price of a Turbo S. Personally, if you own a 911 Turbo S, we think your money is probably better spent elsewhere where the tuner isn't going to turn your vehicleinto an affront to automotive design.
