Mopar 23特殊教育ition Charger And Challenger Are The Final, Final Edition Dodge Muscle Cars

The $4,000 appearance package comes with some sharp looks.

Dodge is throwing theChallengerand Charger a wild retirement party all year long, and the special editions keep on rolling in. The newest addition to the party is the Mopar '23 Special Edition Package which is available only for the R/T Scat Pack Widebody models. At $3,995, only 220 Challenger and 220Chargermodels will be made, with 400 coming to the US and 40 heading to Canada. It's merely an appearance package, but it lets Dodge's in-house parts supplier give the models an accessorized farewell.

"Our iconic two-door and four-door muscle cars from Dodge are perfect vehicles to continue our annual tradition of offering exclusive, performance-oriented, low-volume packages of quality-tested, factory-backed performance parts and accessories from the Mopar Custom Shop," said Mike Koval, head of Mopar North America.

Both models will arrive in Pitch Black Clear Coat with matte-black graphics and Mopar Blue tracer stripes on the hood, roof, and trunk lid. Mopar Blue is strategically used in other areas like the grille badge and brake calipers, and the rear spoiler now comes in carbon fiber for the first time. 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels in Carbon Black wrapped in Pirelli P Zero summer tires round out the exterior.

Inside, you'll find a serialized Mopar instrument-panel badge to let you know you're sitting in something special, but other than that, Dodge just throws in several options packages. You get Alpine Audio Group, the Carbon Suede Interior Package (carbon fiber accents and a suede roof), the Plus Package (Scat Pack logos on Leather/Alcantara seats, heated steering wheel, power steering column adjustment, heated and ventilated front seats, a premium stitched dash, and bright pedals), and the Mopar Interior Appearance package.

We would have liked to have seen special blue stitching or more Mopar badging throughout, but it's pretty apparent Mopar doesn't have as much to work with as it has for models in the past.

Performance-wise, you're still working with the venerable 392 Hemi V8 pushing out 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, sent rearward through either a Tremec six-speed manual or a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic. The widebody package features 3.5-inch fender flares for the massive 11-inch wide wheels and Bilstein three-mode adaptive dampening.

Is this as good as any ofthe Last Call models? No, but it is unique, and for only $3,995, it's not too expensive either. Mopar Blue and black are a great color combination, so even if you don't care about Mopar, it still looks good.

There's only one week leftto order a Challenger or Chargernew, so come August, you'll have to take what you can get on the lot if you want one last taste of naturally aspirated Dodge muscle before it's gone forever.
