Millennials Can't Stop Buying Hyundai's Smallest Crossover

We're not surprised considering it costs less than $18,000.

Last year, Hyundai expanded its crossover range with the introduction of the new 2020 Venue. Positioned below the compactHyundai Kona, the Hyundai Venue is the Korean automaker's smallest and most affordable crossover. Thanks to its low starting price, stylish looks, and advanced tech, the2020 Hyundai Venueis proving to be a hit with Gen Z millennials.

Hyundai has been studying the Venue's buyer demographics over the first quarter and found that more than half of the crossover's customers are among Gen Z, Y and X, with 64 percent being Gen Y and Z combined. 63 percent of 2020 Hyundai Venue buyers are also female, according to the study.

With a starting price of $17,350, complimentary maintenance, and a generous warranty, the 2020 Hyundai Venue is an attractive option for first-time buyers.

As standard, the 2020 Hyundai Venue is equipped with a slew of convenience features including a 3.5-inch instrument cluster display, rear-view monitor, eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Bluetooth hands-free phone, steering wheel audio controls, cruise control, automatic headlights, air conditioning, remote keyless entry and an exterior temperature display.

As part of the Hyundai SmartSense suite of assists, standard safety tech includes a forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist and driver attention warning, electronic stability control, and vehicle stability management with traction control. Front, side and head curtain airbags also come as standard, while blind-spot collision avoidance with pedestrian detection and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist are optional on the SEL trim and standard on the range-topping Denim trim. Regardless of the trim, the 2020 Hyundai Venue is powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four-cylinder engine producing 130 horsepower. Power is sent to the front wheels through either a continuously variable transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
