Michael Bay's Personal Transformers Car Collection Has $2 Million Price Tag

That's $250k per car. Ouch.

While it might not be a car film per se, theTransformersfilm franchiseis arguably one of the most successful automotive-related franchises, with hero cars like theChevrolet CamaroSS starring as Bumblebee, but also featuring the Pontiac Solstice, Ford Mustang, and the odd Lamborghini. The franchise has a certain appeal, no doubt because of Michael Bay's attitude towards the liberal use of explosives for just about every scene. Now, an opportunity has come up to own some of the remaining bits of un-blown-up automotive exotica from Michael Bay's personal collection, including Bumblebee himself.

As part of a special project by Curated, Alex Aievoli and Michael Bay are putting up a selection of cars from Bay's private collection. Among the fleet, there's the 2010 Camaro SS that portrayed Bumblebee, the 2016 Mustang that played Barricade, the 2010 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and the 2014Lamborghini Aventador.

The Aventador is particularly special as it was commissioned specifically for Bay and the film franchise. The VIN number ends in 1963, celebrating the year in which Lamborghini was founded. Finished in Grigio Titans, it featured in the fourth installment of the franchise,Age of Extinction, and has less than 2,000 miles on the clock and still has the door sill plastic coverings in place.

Each of the cars has a special story. The SLS AMG, for example, was part of the Mercedes press fleet before featuring inDark Side Of The Moon. Allegedly, it was the first of its kind, with a bespoke interior, to arrive in the USA. In the film, it was driven by Shia LaBeouf's on-screen girlfriend and Victoria's Secret Model, Rosie Huntington.

Bumblebee and Barricade continued the Ford vs Chevrolet battle, being on opposite sides of the Autobot vs Decepticon war. The Camaro thatportrayed Bumblebeewas built specifically by a GM skunkworks team with bodywork unique to his character, whileBarricade was a police carbased on the sixth-gen S550 'Stang with massive aero and ram bars, working police lights, and a Deep Impact over Ebony color scheme.

The collection of vehicles is up for sale via Curated for a princely sum of $2 million. In addition to four movie cars owned by the famed director, the collection also includes all the original movie footage and documentation.
