With the arrival of the all-new Maserati Gran Turismo, the Italian marque is now dropping details on what strategy it will be taking with its upcoming products. With this change, it will also be adopting the brand's Folgore badge, which has been attached to all of its new electrified products.

Considering that the brand has decided toscrap its smaller Ghibli product line, this will make the Quattroporte Maserati's sole sedan yet again, with the Levante and Grecale SUVs, destined to go all-electric by 2025, joining it as alternative people-mover options. Capaldi added that there is an expectation for the Folgore products to introduce a new breed of Maserati buyers to the stable.

In reference to the new body style strategy, he adds, "With the EV, everything is changing. The segments are crossing [over] each other." It is also understood that the new Quattroporte will adopt the new Gran Turismo's underpinnings together with all future product lines in a bid to minimize costs.

This new layout is beneficial for weight distribution as the T-shape battery is stretched along the center of the chassis. As for power, we can expect the upcoming model's output to be as lower than the 735 horsepower and 997 lb-ft of torque figure delivered by the Gran Turismo Folgore. It is also highly likely to cost less.
