Nothing like some added flare.

The recent arrival of the all-new Cadillac Escalade has forced Lincoln to respond. Though we expect a mid-cycle facelift to happen for the 2022 model year, Ford's luxury brand isn't backing down for 2021. Introducing theLincoln NavigatorBlack Label Special Edition Package. We originallycaught wind of its existencein September and now we have full details.

Available on both regular and the long-bodied version, theNavigator L, this new monochromatic-inspired Black Label Package is a first for customers and offers them a new level of customization on the flagship SUV. Building on the success of the ReserveMonochromatic Package, this latest one features a specially painted black roof and monochromatic black accents on the mesh grille, 22-inch, 12-spoke aluminum wheels, sideview mirror caps, and spoiler.

"The unique black roof coupled with additional monochromatic elements emphasize the strong lines of the Navigator, giving it an even more dramatic look and greater presence on the road," said Earl Lucas, Lincoln exterior chief designer. "Black is a great partner to almost any color, providing a brighter appearance and more contrast - this makes Navigator really stand out."

Buyers can also choose from several body colors, including Pristine White, Chroma Crystal Blue, Silver Radiance, Chroma Molten Gold, Burgundy Velvet, and the new-for-2021 Flight Blue. The package will be available starting next spring and pricing has yet to be announced.

Navigators equipped with regular Black Label trim are not exactly cheap with their nearly six-figure pricing. This new package could potentially push pricing past the $100,000 mark, which would be a first for any new Lincoln model. Lincoln points out that nearly 20 percent of all Navigator sales in 2020 were Black Label and this new package should have no trouble finding its share of buyers.

It's also worth noting the new-for-2020 Lincoln Aviator has so far outsold the Navigator by several thousand units, 19,926 versus 12,959. Introducing new Navigator packages is one way Lincoln can keep attention focused on its most luxurious SUV.
