And yes, it's road legal.

After Lamborghini lifted the wraps off theHuracan STOlast month, we didn't think the Italian automaker had any surprises left for 2020 - but we were wrong. Presenting the Lamborghini SC20, a new one-off, open-top track monster designed by the company's Squadra Corse motorsport division as Lamborghini's answer to theMcLaren Elvaand Aston Martin V12 Speedster. Unlike Squadra Corse'strack-only SCV12, the SC20 is road-legal. This is the company's second one-off project after theSC18based on theLamborghini Aventador.

Created on request by a customer who was directly involved with the project since the first design drawings, the SC20 borrows design cues from the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster, and Concept S.

A front splitter is framed by two fins, while the air intakes on the hood are inspired by the intakes on the Huracan GT3 Evo. The sculpted sides are inherited from the Essenza SCV12, while a large carbon-fiber wing dominates the rear and can be set in three different positions: low, medium, and high load. The carbon fiber body is painted in Bianco Fu (white) with Blu Cepheus (blue) accents to create a unique livery.

This blue shade is also applied to the interior, complemented with Nero Cosmus (black) and Bianco Leda (white) finishes. Visible carbon fiber adorns the dashboard cover, rear wall, door panels, center console and steering wheel trim. Elsewhere, carbon fiber is used for the shells of the seats, which are upholstered in Alcantara and leather, and the door handles are crafted from solid aluminum. 3D-printed air vents round off the interior design elements.

"The SC20 is a combination of sophisticated engineering, Italian craftsmanship, sportiness and advanced design. It is also an example of applying our V12 engine and carbon fiber to a radical open-top vehicle that unmistakably carries the Lamborghini DNA," said Maurizio Reggiani, Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini.

Powering the SC20 is the same 6.5-liter V12 found in the Aventador SVJ Roadster generating 759 hp at 8,500 rpm and 530 lb-ft of torque at 6,750 rpm, which is sent to a four-wheel-drive system through a seven-speed automatic transmission and electronic differential. Transferring all that power to the tarmac are Pirelli PZero Corsa tires wrapped around aluminum rims measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

"The SC20 is one more technical and styling exercise that associates Squadra Corse experience with Lamborghini design, masterfully interpreted by our Centro Stile based on the customer's wishes, which was the focus of the project during the entire vehicle development and construction process," said Giorgio Sanna, Head of Lamborghini Motorsport.
