The gearhead legend still has some treatments required before he is fully recovered.
After a serious encounter trying to start up a pre-war steam-powered classic car, Jay Leno has finally been released from the Grossman Burn Center in California. However, he has visible scars that are likely to be permanent. Personally, we're all glad to see that he is looking good with a brave smile on his face.
The formerTonight Showhost, and one of our favorite automotive YouTubers,was admitted to the facilityon 14 November.
It was reported that he was burned on the left side of his face, chest, and arm, but thankfully the flames did not make it into his eyes or ears.
Leno stated that he only needed a week or two to recover before he got back on his feet, and it looks like he stuck to his word as he is back out in just 10 days, but it is apparent that his road to complete recovery is not yet complete.
"I am pleased with Jay's progress, and I am optimistic that he will make a full recovery," said Dr. Peter Grossman, speaking on behalf of Grossman Burn Center.
Leno will continue to visit the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for updated treatment which means that there is a possibility he may not get back in front of the camera just yet.
The hospital's statement adds, "Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday."
Thankfully, previously recorded videos are still being posted to the channel, but not at the same frequency. Going forward, we are confident that Leno will continue to deliverinsightful and entertaining videoson the rare, desirable, and obscure cars created throughout the years.
