Jaguar XFR-S Spotted at the Nurburgring

The UK is about to face off against Germany to see who can build the best high-performance sports sedan.

Our intrepid spy photographs have just spotted a production version of the upcoming Jaguar XFR-S for the first time today as it lapped the Nurburgring. We've seen test mules of it before that were nothing more than beefed up XFRs with a few extra body pieces, but this is a first look at the production-ready car. Judging by these pictures, the front end will have its own unique design that looks nothing like what's on the XFR or even the XKR-S. In fact it reminds us more of the BMW M5's styling.

The side sills are also more pronounced and together with the wider track and wheels it gives the XFR-S a really powerful look. Out back the diffuser is more prominent than what is on the XFR and the trunk now has a rear spoiler. Under the hood we expect that the 5.0-liter V8 has been tuned to around 550 horsepower to put the pressure on both the M5 and the Mercedes E63 AMG. Along with the Audi RS6, the battle for the ultimate luxury high-performance sports sedan is about to begin, but this time the UK will be present.
