The gorgeous hues are inspired by the Sardinian seas and skies.

In celebration of Lamborghini's60th anniversary this year, the Sant'Agata-Bolognese-based brand has revealed the "Opera Unica," a one-offHuracan Sterratoshowing off a unique paint effect. The crystal-effect paint finish was created by Lamborghini's Ad Personam department - whichoffers several other special Sterrato colorstoo - and takes inspiration from "the vibrant blues of Sardinia's seas and skies."

The three-color one-off was painted by hand to create the "crystal effect of a frozen liquid," with Blu Amnis used as the first solid paint color. This is then etched into by hand with Blu Grifo paint before Blu Fedra is applied. Altogether, the painting process takes over 370 hours, and those responsible for the paintwork would probably hate to see the Sterrato used as intended. We'd love it.

"The Huracan Sterrato was born from challenging the expected, delivering a super sports car that goes beyond convention. The one-off Huracan Sterrato Opera Unica takes this to another level, and in Lamborghini tradition, draws attention and asks questions of it as an art form," said Lamborghini chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. "Lamborghini is always touched by the beauty and colors of Sardinia, and this is the perfect opportunity to experiment with a new paint process."

Is the Sterrato really the ideal candidate for this? Wasn't the Sterrato built to go off the beaten path, kick up stones and rocks, and just be enjoyed as a fast off-roader? If so, then why add a bespoke paint finish that will surely be damaged? Because Lamborghini buyers prefer to pose than to perform, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's their money, after all.

年代ome considerations to practical use are evidenced in the fact that certain elements are painted matte black, such as the roof, sills, front light casings, front and rear splitters, and fenders. The wheel arch cladding is also finished in this color, as are the wheels themselves, a 19-inch design called Morus.

Inside, exposed carbon fiber plays a big role, as usual, while the seats, door panels, and center console have been covered in Blu Delphinus leather. The same color finds itself on the dash, where specially-dyed Alcantara creates a contrast of textures while the steering wheel blends the two materials. A lighter Celeste Phoebe leather is used for other panels, piping, and embroidery. A seat panel graphic is lasered in silver, and the start-stop button cover is painted to match the exterior. Finally, a special plaque reads "Opera Unica Porto Cervo 2023."

The special Sterrato will now be sent to the Lamborghini Lounge in Porto Cervo until 10 September, after which we assume it will reach either a wealthy buyer or be stored inthe MUDETEC.
