Honda Ridgeline Concept Makes A Cybertruck Look Boring

Electric trucks are just beginning to take off, and already there are quite a few options to choose from, although most aren't yet available to buy. So far, the best of the bunch seems to be Ford's F-150 Lightning, but it does lose out in certain metricscompared to Rivian's R1T. Then there's Lordstown with the Endurance, which seems to havelots of fans already, plus afew other optionsfrom the likes of GMC, Bollinger, and of course, Tesla. But as more American manufacturers move into this market, we need to consider what the Japanese may offer, and thanks to a stunning new concept from Rene Garcia, it seems that theHonda Ridgelineof tomorrow could decimate all.

Garcia is a concept designer at ILM who has done work on glitzy television and cinema projects likeThe Mandalorian,Thor: Ragnarok,The Avengers, andTransformers. As you can see, that hasn't affected his ability to add real-world touches to a conceptual vehicle. This concept features a charging port behind the front Honda badge, a retractable winch, a frunk, and even an expandable truck bed that allows for the loading of a quadricycle. Tools and emergency kits are also included, as are roof racks and Bronco-style cutouts in suicide doors for light and ease of access. A skylight even features, presumably so-called for its lengthwise orientation.
