Here's Your First Look At The New Entry-Level Mercedes

A few days ago, Mercedes-AMG confirmed toCarBuzzthat theAMG A35 will be discontinued in the USfor the 2022 model year, so you may want to snap up AMG's most affordable sedan while you still can. For now, though, the regular non-AMGMercedes A-Class Sedanis safe from the chopping block - at least for the 2022 model year. Now, our spies have caught the facelifted 2023 model undergoing winter testing.

After a prototype wasspied back in July, we've known that Mercedes is preparing to give its entry-level model a midlife refresh. That prototype was based on the European hatchback, but now, for the first time, our spies have caught Mercedes testing America's updated A-Class Sedan that will do battle with the Audi A3 once again.

In the US, the current-generation A-Class has been on sale since the 2019 model year, so it's the perfect time for a model refresh. Like the hatchback, the front and rear of the A-Class Sedan prototype are wrapped in camouflage, covering up the luxury sedan's restyled front and rear bumpers.

There's also a new grille and the headlights and taillights have been redesigned to bring the styling more in line with the new C-Class. We're also expecting the 2023 A-Class Sedan to be offered with new exterior paint color options.
