According to reports, Murray is developing "a small SUV project that will showcase his company's newly confirmed electric-vehicle architecture - and fire a shot across the bows of conventional manufacturers on weight, size, and packaging." So if you were worried that Murray had lost the plot by creating a mass-market machine that is almost indistinguishable from its rivals, fear not. This comes after theGordon Murray Groupannounced a new investment of £300 million (roughly $423 million), enabling the group to form a new division called Gordon Murray Electronics.

The "city SUV", as Murray is calling it, will be accompanied by a delivery van that will share most of its components. The long-term goal is to attract companies that want to build small fleets or quickly set up an EV business. But it'll be some time before we see anything of either vehicle; a 2023 release is likely.
