Drag Race: C8 Corvette Vs. 600-HP Lexus GS Drift Car

In stock form, the Lexus GS 300, which wasdiscontinued in the US for the 2020 year, utilizes a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 241 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Except this Lexus GS 300 isn't stock.

While the Lexus has more power, it's 200 pounds heavier than its competitor. It also rides lower to the ground on massive rims and is fitted with a sporty bodykit.

In the first race, the stock Corvette C8 and tuned Lexus GS 300 race on a 1,500-ft strip of track from a standing start. Both cars get a good launch, but the more modern Corvette rockets ahead and beats the Lexus without breaking a sweat.

In round two, the two cars compete in a rolling drag race. This time, the driver was able to take advantage of the drift car's extra muscle and beat the Corvette. For the third and final round, which was also a rolling race, the Corvette driver switched back to automatic mode.

With faster shift times and superior traction, the Corvette was able to defeat the Lexus and was declared the overall winner. After the race, the modified Lexus GS 300 is let loose to do what it was designed to do: do burnouts and destroy tires. It's worth watching the video until the end - let's just say the driver pushed the car a bit too hard.
