Dodge Challenger T/A Concept Introduced Ahead of SEMA

Retro styling with a thoroughly modern 500-hp Hemi V8.

Having been teased earlier in the month, this Sublime Green Challenger T/A concept has been unveiled in full ahead of its debut at SEMA 2014 next week. Inspiration comes from racing driver Sam Posey's original number 77 Challenger T/A, with Mopar adding a slew of goodies to the retro muscle car, including matte-black 20-inch alloys housing Brembo brakes, an active exhaust system that can divert flow to the suitably loud side pipes, and aero add-ons such as a front splitter and decklid spoiler.

Power comes from Chrysler's 6.4-liter Hemi V8, which sends 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual. A functional Viper-style hood scoop and Air Catcher ram-air intake tubes where the running lights should help the powerplant breathe, while the stripped-out interior with no rear seats, half a roll cage and four-point harnesses suggest this is car not to be messed with. It might not have the 707 ponies of the Hellcat, but the Dodge Challenger T/A is just as intimidating and easily as cool. Let's hope this concept makes it to production.
