David Coulthard Takes New SLS AMG GT Around the Ring

Nurburgring /2 Comments

The DTM racing driver laps the Nurburgring in the new SLS AMG GT while providing insightful commentary.

Former F1 driver David Coulthard was last seen catching golf ball in an SLS AMG Roadster at a 178 mph, but has now taken to the new SLS GT.

For his latest bit of publicity for the Silver Star, the Mercedes brand ambassador straps his driving helmet back on in order to test out the upgraded SLS AMG GT at the Nurburgring. The Scottish driver, who currently competes in the DTM series, provides insightful commentary and tidbits about the enhanced neo-Gullwing, although we wish he'd shut up for more than five seconds to allow that awesome soundtrack to shine through. Output from the slightly uprated 6.3-liter V8 is rated at 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque for a 0-62 time quoted at 3.7 seconds and top speed electronically limited to 197 mph.
