Brabus Unveils Porsche 911 Turbo S With 888 Horsepower

The 900 Rocket R is the latest vehicle from Brabus, following the release of two Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6adventure-ready behemoths. It's based on thePorsche 911 Turbo Swith an all-black motif inside and out. This is not the first Porsche that Brabus modified - the German tuner previously customized a convertible 911 Turbo S drop-topdubbed Brabus 820.

Unlike its drop-top sibling, the Brabus 900 Rocket R has a more potent tune. The 3.8-liter flat-six engine puts out 888 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque - 68 hp and 37 lb-ft more powerful than the Brabus 820 911 Turbo S and with way more oomph than a stock 992 Turbo S.

Two Brabus high-performance turbochargers motivate the power boost, which allows the 900 Rocket R to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds. Then, launching from a standstill to 124 mph takes the vehicle 7.2 seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph.

Brabus' claimed performance numbers show an improvement when compared to the standard 911 Turbo S. The factory spec Porsche clocks 0 to 62 mph in 2.7 seconds, which is within the ballpark figure of Brabus' 900 Rocket R. The difference is more significant in a sprint to 124 mph, though, as the Brabus shaves two seconds off the stock's car's time of 8.9 seconds.
