BMW M's First-Ever Motorcycle Looks Epic Alongside The M3

The M 1000 RR you see here is fitted with the M Competition Package and features M winglets and decals. It has a 999-cc inline four-cylinder that produces 205 horsepower and 83 lb-ft of torque, which has to propel just 423 pounds of weight excluding the rider. It also features launch control, which allows it to get from 0-62 mph in just 3.1 seconds, while top speed is rated at 190 mph.

The M3 Competition, on the other hand, is well-known to regular readers. Its turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six develops 503 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, and it too has launch control. The sprint from 0-60 mph takes 3.8 seconds, top speed is 180 mph, and it has a lot more weight: 3,890 pounds of it.

Sadly, the above video is just a promotional item rather than a proper race, so we don't get to see how these astonishing machines perform against each other on a track. Still,watching an M3 driftaround a track is something we never tire of, and when that sight is accompanied by the wail of a bike capable of revving to 15,100 rpm, it's even better. The video also suggests that there'll be more cool mini films showcasing one M model against another, as this is just one episode of BMW M vs. M.
