The baby M is ready to embarrass its bigger brothers.

The German tuning industry is massive, and with more and more turbocharged performance vehicles leaving the production lines of manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, aftermarket performance shops are seeing dollar signs. Just take Manhart, the German tuning house renowned for making fast German sports cars, stupid fast. We've covered numerous Manhart builds, some good, and somepretty bad, but if there's one thing this company knows how to do, its make big power out of BMW's famed inline-six engines. Last year we covered itsBMW M2 tuning package, and this year the company is back with a new kit that delivers even more thrills and questionable styling choices. Say hello to the MH2 550.

TheBMW M2其股票S55 3.0升inline-six twin-turbo engine with the outgoing M4 and delivers 405 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission. The result of this potent combination is a 0-60 mph sprint in the low four second range and a top speed of 174 mph. Manhart takes this solid base and makes it even wilder thanks to custom ECU tuning and a more efficient carbon air intake system. A set of downpipes and a cat-back exhaust also helps to free up some extra ponies. The end result is a compact rear-wheel-drive BMW that makes close to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

With all that added power, Manhart decided to make the exterior match the car's new found capabilities. The MH2 550 gains a few special carbon fiber details to the front spoiler, rear spoiler, and side wings. Manhart has improved the MH2 550's stance by fitting 20-mm KW coil springs, and the car rides on badass 20-inch Concave One rims. Manhart has managed to keep the MH2 550 looking classy and not too overdone, and with 550 hp on tap, you can be sure that this thing is going to embarrass its bigger M brothers.
