BMW Isn't Hiding The M3 Touring Anymore

We highly suggest watching the whole video as it features a guest appearance by theE46 M3 Touring Concept, a prototype vehicle that sadly never reached production. 20 years later, BMW is building an M3 wagon for customers, now based on the existing G80 generation model. At around the 5:00 mark in the video, we get to see the upcoming M3 Touring under a black cover, but they quickly lift it up to reveal the production rear end. Aside from the main BMW badge in the center, the trunk is completely devoid of any labels. We suspect the final product that customers receive will at least have an M3 badge on the back.

This is likely not the final teaser before the wraps are fully pulled off the M3 Touring, even though we've already been waiting to see it for over two years through a global pandemic. The M3 Touring will use the same 3.0-liter S58 inline-six engine featuring two turbochargers yielding 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. We expect the Touring variant to arrive as a Competition model only,featuring an eight-speed automatic transmissionand xDrive all-wheel-drive. Inside, this could be the first M3 to get BMW's newiDrive 8 with a curved display.
