一个lfa Romeo Wants Fans To Design New Supercar With AI

Supercars /2 Comments

The reveal is happening next week, and Alfa Romeo wants you to imagine a new supercar with the help of AI.

一个lfa Romeo's next supercar will debut next Wednesday, August 30th, at 11 AM Eastern in a live stream on the company's channels. To build up even more excitement for a model that wassold out before it was even greenlit, the company is now asking fans of the brand to use their imaginations to come up with what they think the supercar will turn out to be. But, knowing that not everyone is an artist, the Italian automaker has invited fans to turn their ideas into six prompts that can be fed into the brand's AI generator to bring the ideas to life.

In the words of the press release, the company asks, "What will you imagine? What does your dream Alfa Romeo look like? Is it futuristic or nostalgic? Classic or contemporary? 4 or 2-doors? Sleek or Steampunk? Red or green? You can even tell us where you'd like to see it - ocean road, mountain pass, salt flats, or race track?"

Once you've come up with your six short prompts, the company then wants you to comment on the Instagram post above so it can then use or release the best ones in the near future. It's possible the images closest to the actual car will be utilized during the live stream on August 30th, but for the time being, you can see the submissions on Alfa Romeo Australia's websitehere.

一个nother Stellantis brand, Abarth, did something similar with its recently unveiled Abarth 500e, going even further by asking fans to helpdesign the vehicle in the first placeand then choosing the soundtrack of it. We imagine Alfa Romeo wouldn't want its next halo vehicle left up to a similar fate, but we still think this is a great way to engage fans since we still don't officially know anything about the upcoming supercar.

Everything up to this point has mainly been speculation. There were reports the supercar will be called the 6C since it is supposedly V6 powered, but competing reports say it will be named the "33" after the 1967 33 Stradale, and there seems to begood evidence to back this one up.

We don't know exactly where the V6 powerplant will come from either, with one report saying it will borrow the Nettuno V6 from Maserati and another saying that's straight malarkey. The latter report said the vehicle will use an upgraded version of the powerplant in theGiulia Quadrifoglio. Whatever the unit, power should be somewhere around the 800 hp mark when the vehicle is unveiled.

一个teaser on the brand's Instagramshows a blurry steering wheel. Not much can be deduced from the image besides some leather and milled metal, but it does give the impression the vehicle will have a minimalist, throwback look. Another teaser showed a vintage vaned grille, but Alfa has kept the car under wraps aside from this.

We hope that whatever it's called, it features the brand's classically beautiful styling and minimalism. As Alfa Romeo's last-ever combustion car, we want it to be as undiluted an experience as possible.
