This has resulted in a price increase.

Alfa Romeo's US lineup currently consists of two core models: theGiuliaand年代telvio. This will change next year with the arrival of theTonale crossover, which will hopefully help boost the Italian automaker's presence in America. In the meantime, Alfa Romeo has updated the Giulia and Stelvio for the 2022 model year with a raft of new standard tech.

For the Giulia, a new Veloce trim replaces last year's Ti Sport trim. Slotting below the high-performance Quadrifoglio, the Veloce offers a "performance gateway to the Giulia lineup." As standard, the 2022 Giulia comes with a suite of driver assists including an active blind-spot assist, active cruise control, lane departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors.

New standard comfort and convenience tech also include heated front and rear seats, a navigation system, a wireless charging pad, an air quality system, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror. On the outside, the 2022 Alfa Romeo Giulia features 35W bi-xenon adaptive headlamps and dark trim elements for a sportier look. Ti and Veloce trims also gain grocery bag hooks and a cargo net in the trunk.

Aluminum paddle shifters are now included inside the Sprint and Veloce trims, while the Sprint, Ti, and Veoce trims are equipped with aluminum sport pedals and a dark headliner. Most of these updates carry over to the 2022 Stelvio along with darkened exhaust tips, a skid plate, and roof rails.

There are no changes under the hood. As before, the lower trims are powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged engine rated at 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft of torque, while the Quadrifoglio trims utilize a Ferrari-sourced 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 good for 505 hp and 443 lb-ft. Alfa Romeo also offersmore powerful GTA variantsof the Giulia and Stelvio, which are now sold out.

As you would expect, the new standard equipment has bumped up the price of the Giulia and Stelvio for 2022. With destination charges, the Giulia starts at $44,445, an increase of $1,940 compared to the 2021 model. Starting at $46,645 including destination, the 2022 Stelvio is $2,140 more expensive than last year's model.
