The new Revero GTS will hit 0-62 mph a full second faster than the regular GT.

Back in April, Karma revealed the newRevero GTto replace the original model, which was based on the Fisker Karma that launched way back in 2011. It was a much-needed upgrade because the old Fisker Karma was a flawed hybrid sedan withpoor fuel economyand anunfortunate tendency to catch fire.

It was a financial flop, causing Fisker Automotive to go bankrupt. However, the company was revived by a Chinese company called Wanxiang and renamed to Karma Automotive. In short, the new Revero GT is better than its predecessor in every way, offering more power, a better range, and a more luxurious interior.

Power is sourced from two electric motors and a BMW-sourced, turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that powers an on-board electric generator. With this setup, the 2020 Revero GT produces a combined output of 535 horsepower, a 132 hp increase over the old model, and 550 lb-ft of torque, enabling the luxury hybrid sedan to hit 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph. That's an impressive improvement over its predecessor, which needed 5.4 seconds to do the same sprint.

If you want even more performance, however, a more powerful Revero GTS is coming very soon. Speaking toWards Auto, Karma's chief technology officer, Bob Kruse, confirmed the new Revero GTS will debut at the 2019 LA Auto Show next month.

Compared to the standard Revero GT, the GTS will do 0-62 mph a full second faster in 3.5 seconds, but the power output of the upgraded model wasn't revealed. In addition, it will also have a more premium interior and special wheels. It isn't clear if the GTS will have more range than the regular Revero GT, which can run on pure electric power for up to 61 miles. These upgrades will also mean the GTS will be more expensive than the Revero GT, whichstarts at $135,000. Deliveries of the standard 2019 Karma Revero GT will kick off in Q4 2019.

This won't be the only new model Karma will debut at the show either, as Kruse confirmed that a successor to the SC1 Concept will also be shown in LA.
