The EX30 delivers 0-60 in 3.4 seconds at an incredible price.

We knew the2025 Volvo EX30was set to be the cheapest luxury electric vehicle in the US when it arrives on the market next year, but now we have a fuller picture of what a value buy it will be. TheEX30 Corewill start at just $34,950 (not including a $1,295 destination fee), making it significantly cheaper than any EV from Audi, BMW, Mercedes, or, in fact, any luxury brand. That price is for the Single Motor Extended Range version, which sends 268 horsepower and 253 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, enabling a 5.1-second 0-60 mph time. A 69 kWh battery provides 275 miles of range.

That Core model includes a Google infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and plenty of safety features, including driver alert, blind spot monitoring, door opening alert, and collision mitigation both front and rear.

The rear-drive model will also be available in the Plus trim for $38,900 and the Ultra trim for $40,600. Stepping up to the Plus adds a Harman Kardon audio system, panoramic roof, and 19-inch wheel, while the Ultra trim brings more advanced safety features such as Pilot Assist with lane change, a 360-degree camera, and Park Pilot Assist.

Volvo also released pricing information on the Twin Motor Performance model, which adds a second electric motor for a total of 422 hp and 400 lb-ft. With e-AWD, the EX30 can hit 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it thequickest Volvo or Polestar ever built. Impressively, range only drops to 265 miles when opting for the dual-motor setup. The Twin Motor Performance Plus starts at $44,900, while the Ultra costs $46,600. These are incredible values, considering that the larger but less powerful XC40 Recharge costs $53,550.

To keep costs down, buyers only get a choice of five exterior colors: Moss Yellow, Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black. Inside, there are four interior color schemes - Mist, Pine, Indigo, and Breeze - which can be paired with one of five ambient light themes inspired by Swedish landscapes.

It may not be the biggest or most well-equipped EV on the market, but that impressive starting price combined with competitive performance should set up the EX30 as an instant winner. Customers with pre-orders can configure their cars later this fall, and deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of 2024.
