2024 Toyota Crown Gets Small Price Bump And New Safety Tech

Pricing /7 Comments

Toyota's largest sedan has been lightly refreshed for the new model year.

A year after it arrived as a 2023 model, Toyota has announced pricing for the 2024 Crown sedan, along with minor updates.

Still offered in XLE, Limited, and Platinum trim levels, the 2024Toyota Crownnow begins at $40,050, only $100 more than it was. The Limited costs $45,650, and the Platinum is $53,070, increases of $100 and $720, respectively. These prices exclude the destination charge of $1,095, which has remained unchanged from the 2023 to 2024 model years.

th变化e 2024 Crown are relatively minor, with upgraded materials and safety features. The automaker mentioned interior updates for all trim levels, including the soft-touch materials, while new warm steel-colored accents arrive for all models.

The minor changes to the Crown aren't surprising since the vehicle was only launched a year ago. We are surprised, however, to hear about an upgraded interior so soon since we found the Crown to have a wonderfully upmarket cabinwhen we first drove it. Even the woven fabric on the seats of the base model looks and feels great.

Elsewhere in the Crow's spacious interior, there is a 12.3-inch touchscreen-equipped for all models. It includes wireless operation of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Complementing the comfortable cabin is an absorbent ride, but you'll need to go for the Platinum if you want access to the more powerful Hybrid Max powertrain with 340 horsepower combined.

For 2024, Toyota has enhanced the Crown's safety technologies. The Platinum now comes with traffic jam assist, lane-change assist, and front cross-traffic alert. These features are available on the mid-range Limited, too, as part of the upgraded Advanced Technology Package. This package was $2,950 on the Limited last year and included a panoramic view monitor, but the three new features have raised its price to $3,570.

Although the base XLE doesn't have access to all the same safety technologies, it still enjoys the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 Package with a pre-collision system, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure alert, and road sign assist.

Although its sales can't match several Toyota SUVs, the Crown has sold over 13,000 units in 2023 so far, more than the discontinuedAvalonmanaged over the same period in 2022. If Toyota expands the local Crown range with the intriguingly designedCrown Sport that debuted in Japanearlier this month, we can expect the nameplate to gain even more traction.
