2024 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe Caught Testing In Germany

Our spy photographers caught the 2024Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupeperforming final testing in Germany ahead of its reveal later this year.

The last time we spotted thenew GLC 43 Coupewas back in August 2022, but in the latest batch of images, more of the camouflage has been peeled away. We can finally see the Panamericana grille, larger front air intakes, a wider track, side sills, and a prominent rear spoiler. As usual with any AMG model, bigger wheels are also part of the package.

There will also be a rear diffuser, even though test engineers did an excellent job hiding it on this prototype. We're still unsure whether Mercedes will call this new compact SUV coupe the AMG 43 or 53. Chances are, it will follow the C-Class naming structure, so if we had to put money down, we're going with 43.

Regardless, it will still compete directly against the formidable Audi SQ5 Sportback and BMW X4 M40i.

There will also be a狗AMG " GLC 63 Coupe, also due shortly. But unlike that model, the GLC 43 (or 53) will ship without several components that differentiate the in-betweener models from the full-fat AMG products.

Under the hood, expect to find a turbocharged four-cylinder in place of the previous generation's twin-turbo V6. More specifically, it will be the same M139L engine found in the C43 sedan, meaning a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-pot producing around 402 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
