After years of waiting, the recently revealed 2020 Jeep Gladiatoris agonizingly close to production. While we wait, fans will be pleased to know that theGladiator configurator is now up and runningon Jeep's website.

Thanks to the guys at theJeepGladiatorforum.comfor the early heads-up, their members must clearly have been staring at their screens waiting for it to go live. The website allows you to choose from between Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon trim levels. However, the pricing is not yet listed and there are a few omissions on the options list for now.

As expected, every Gladiator will be fitted with the 3.6-liter 285-horsepower V6 motor and 6-speed manual transmission as standard with an 8-speed automatic available as an option. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel will also make an appearance in due course but it seems thatwe will not be getting the turbocharged 2.0-liter motoras it apparently cannot handle the higher temperatures during towing as well as the non-turbo V6.

On that note, the configurator does not have an option for the Max-Tow package just yet although the standard trailer tow package can already be optioned.

It also seems that if you're intent on gettingthe more desirable optionsyou will have to tick a few extra boxes to do so. The integrated TrailCam off-road camera, for example, can only be had in conjunction with the full premium LED lighting group.

You will also have to start with the Sport S trim if you want the more advanced safety systems such as forward collision warning and brake assist. That said, the base Sport still comes with the same rugged underpinnings as the rest of the range and we will need to see those finalized prices first to see which variant offers the best value for money.
