2019 Abarth 595 Arrives With Aggressive Styling And Louder Exhaust

Fiat's performance division Abarth has updated the 500-based 595 hot hatch for the 2019 model year with new color options and technology. In Europe, the Italian pocket rocket comes in several flavors: the 595, 595 Trofeo, 595 Turismo, 595 Competizione and the 695 Rivale, each offering different power outputs from the updated 1.4-liter T-Jet engine.

The entry-level 595 offers 143 hp, while the 595 Trofeo packs 158 hp and comes with a Record Monza active exhaust as standard to make the car sound a little angrier. An active valve can be controlled by pressing a Sport button, which makes the engine rumble become "deeper and bolder."

Moving up the range, the 595 Turismo is designed for drivers who want comfort and style. According to Abarth, the engine delivers 163 hp, enabling the hot hatch to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds. It also comes with leather upholstery and an exclusive Asfalto Grey matte livery, rear tinted windows and satin chrome trim and mirror caps.

The more performance-focused Competizione model produces 177 hp and is offered with an optional mechanical limited-slip differential to improve the car's driving performance and cornering abilities on the track. 0-62 mph in the 595 Competizione takes 6.7 seconds and the car also uses a Brembo braking system with 4-piston aluminium monobloc fixed callipers. Inside, the most aggressive 595 comes with Abarth Corsa by Sabelt bucket seats as standard. Both the new 595 Pista and Competizione can be finished in a new Adrenalina Green color option.
